Today is India's 61st Independence day and every true Indian is happy and celebrating it with his heart. But here are some questions which came into my mind and forced me to think a little inside...

Yesterday night, I set my status message on Gtalk as "Happy B'day India, celebrating 61 years of independence...". One of my friends from Peru pinged me and congratulated me on India's 61st independence day. Alone with this, she asked that how I am/We are celebrating this and this put me in deep thinking. Is hoisting flag at your office/home enough to celebrate this occasion? Or having a competition to wear traditional Indian wear in office for a day is enough? Or changing your status message/display name for one day is enough? No it's not, at least in my opinion. If you are true to your country's independence then every breathing moment in open air of your country should be a celebration of independence for you. Some may argue that celebrating this occasion with above methods gives you at least some sense of the specialty of the moment but doing only this is not enough. Celebration should mean to spread happiness in your surroundings and independence means equality to everyone. I am not against celebration in any manner but why not extend these celebrations through the year and sense the independence of you and your country in every living moment.
